#11 - Why care? RestroomRenewal.org

Hi, everyone. I'm Bruce Bonnett, and welcome to RestroomRenewal.org, a community that supports and advocates for the passage of H.R. Bill: Public Restroom Renewal Act.

RestroomRenewal.org's mission is to collect 100,000 petition signatures in support of national air safety standards for all public restrooms. The Clean Air Act has forgotten about public restrooms; that's Starbucks Coffee's job.

Why Care?

Almost everyone has a personal restroom story they would rather not remember; thus, viewers can finally voice their anger about being powerless over public restroom health conditions and sign the petition for nationally regulated health standards. Public sanitation is a right, not a privilege.

H.R. Bill: Public Restroom Renewal Act

  1. All public restrooms within the borders of the United States of America will be assigned a unique identifier number from the Public Restrooms Federal Registry. The data needed for each restroom includes the address, GPS coordinates, and the business name if located within a retail establishment. The local government public health department will gather this restroom data and process it with the PRFR national database.
  2. The restroom air circulation system must exhaust all the room's air volume to the outside every 5 minutes. The exhaust air is vented directly to the outside of the building and is not to be recycled back into the restroom or the building's HVAC system. This direct exhaust pipe prevents restroom air from spreading directly into offices, waiting rooms, elevator shafts, and the building's walls, floors, and ceiling membranes. The public restroom exterior exhaust vent pipe must be at least 75 feet away from the building's HVAC air intake tubes.

All City, County, and State laws regulate everything else; in other words, all aspects of public restroom facilities—including walls, ceilings, floors, sinks, toilet stalls, soap, and paper dispensers—are regulated by local laws.

Personal health concerns and fears people encounter when using public restrooms are a strong motivator to sign a petition calling on the U.S. Congress to ratify the Public Restroom Renewal Act so the public can breathe fresh air.

RestroomRenewal.org's engagement strategy is to develop YouTube, iTunes, and Spotify audio-only channels featuring educational podcast episodes.  iTunes and YouTube podcasts will explain the science and culture of public restrooms.

RestroomRenewal.org's core audience is people who use their phones to listen to podcasts. After the first contact, they may decide to visit www.RestroomRenewal.org and sign the petition.

Establish National Standards for Public Restrooms

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we learned the utmost importance of hygiene, sanitation, and improving air circulation in public spaces. While the immediate threat may have decreased, it has become evident that we must remain vigilant and proactive to avoid future health crises. The Public Restroom Renewal Act aims to set national standards for public restrooms across the United States, ensuring they're designed to combat the spread of disease and provide safe, healthy spaces for everyone.

In light of increasing public health threats, our restrooms should not only be clean but also technologically equipped to minimize the risk of infection. The requirement for air circulation systems that exhaust the entire room volume every 5 minutes saves people's lives. This stipulation ensures that air is continuously replaced, reducing the risk of airborne pathogens lingering in the air you breathe.

Additionally, by assigning each fixed-location public restroom a unique identification number that will be part of a national registry, we can maintain a standardized monitoring process to ensure these restrooms comply with the proposed national standards. This registry will enhance accountability, facilitate regulatory enforcement, track maintenance needs, and improve overall sanitation.

Our mission is to gather one hundred thousand signatures to compel the U.S. Congress to ratify the Public Restroom Renewal Act. This act is not merely a piece of legislation; it's a necessary step towards a healthier, more secure society. It reflects our commitment to public well-being and our understanding that preparedness is crucial in averting health disasters.

Let's not wait for the next pandemic to remind us of what's at stake.

Please sign this petition to urge the U.S. Congress to enact the Public Restroom Renewal Act and protect the health of millions.

Live Long, Die Quick.

Bruce
